A Double Decker Adventure
22,500 miles - Bristol to Kazakhstan and back!
In 2003 Daniel Spokes bought a double decker bus with the dream of driving it to Kazakhstan and back. He teamed up with friend Matt Lumber and over four and a half long years they have restored their Bristol VR to a classic car standard finish. The dream is now a reality.

See how Daniel and Matt are getting on
The duo has transformed the bus into an expedition vehicle which is tough enough on the outside (bull bar included) and comfy enough on the inside to make the trip.
With a 12 litre Gardener Diesel engine, top speed of 75 mph and a roomy interior of 480 sq ft over the two decks, Dan and Matt believe their rather special Bristol Bus is perfect for the job.
What's more - the bus has been uniquely converted so that the roof folds down by 2.5 feet (together with sun roof and viewing decks) so no low bridges will halt their travels...
